Legend says that the early settlers of the barangay did not know what name they could give to the place. Then a stranger came and asked for the name of the barangay. The old man did not quite understand the question and thought that the stranger was asking about the name of the head of the place, and so he answered cabeza de barangay. The stranger thought that the name given to the place is cabeza. The people have adopted the name, and later on pronounced it as CAVASI.

Geography/Topography

Barangay Cavasi is bounded on the North by Barangay Bobonsuran; on the South by Barangay Ranao-Ranao; on the East by Barangay Tagpo; and on the West by Barangay Tinampo. It has a total land area of 98.56 ha. and is 3 km. away from the City Proper.

People

Majority of the residents are Roman Catholics, though there are still some who belong to other religious sects. The people are kind, religious, industrious and loving.
